So what is sForce?

sForce is a sForzando-powered IDE (Integrated Development Environment) for software. It will be extensible, flexible, and easy to use. Here is a very preliminary feature list for sForce:

• Full integration with sForzando nodes, widgets, etc.
• Ability to "compile" into Python
• Graphical design environment with drag/drop functionality
• Event-based paradigm
• Integrated text editor for direct Python scripting
• Realtime run preview
• ConfigParser-based object model for easy extensibility
• Cross-platform development (will support any platform Pygame does, which includes Windows, Linux, and MacOS)

Hey, aren't some of these features reminiscent of The Games Factory, Klik & Play, Click & Create, Multimedia Fusion, etc.? Short answer: yes. sForce is highly influenced by the Clickteam line of products. Essentially, we plan to develop a program similar to Multimedia Fusion but with truly easy extensibility (i.e. no complicated, undocumented C++ APIs to learn), cross-platform development, and open source.

So where can I download it? You can't, yet. For a really bleeding-edge (i.e. probably not working) version, check out CVS.
